Many of our partners and donors have asked for ways to help and support the people of Ukraine. The following is a list of organizations that are capable and well-positioned to deliver aid directly to those who need it most.
Center for Disaster Philanthropy has been helping individuals, foundations and corporations increase the effectiveness of their philanthropic response to disasters and humanitarian crises since 2010.
Razom for Ukraine was created to provide critical medical supplies and to amplify the voices of Ukrainians.
International Medical Corps – IMC has been active in the country since 2014 providing health services, following the collapse of eastern Ukraine’s health system in the midst of conflict. They are already preparing to deploy mobile medical teams to provide essential emergency and primary health services; mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services, which are critical for conflict-affected communities; and COVID-19 awareness and prevention services to help keep displaced people safe from the pandemic.
USA for UNHCR The UN Refugee Agency – UNHCR is working with the authorities, UN and other partners in Ukraine and is ready to provide humanitarian assistance wherever necessary and possible. UNHCR is the lead agency in Poland as this is a refugee response and they are working closely with the government.
Project Hope – Project HOPE has been working in Ukraine since 2007 in the health areas of HIV services and strengthening TB control. Project Hope is mobilizing their initial humanitarian response by sending two IEHKs (Interagency Health Kits that each contain about 1 ton of medical supplies to support 10,000 people for three months).
Save the Children – Save the Children says that 7.5 million children are at risk of severe emotional distress and displacement. They are now working with local partner organizations to expand their reach and support to Ukrainian families impacted by the crisis.
Internews– Internews is supporting journalists and independent media news outlets in Ukraine by providing them with resources to ensure their safety and ability to continue working during this conflict.
JDC – In response to the invasion of Ukraine, JDC has launched an emergency campaign to respond to spiking humanitarian needs among the nearly 40,000 poor Jews it supports in 1,000 locations around the country. JDC is already providing extra essentials like food and medicine to its clients and has activated its emergency hotlines, volunteer corps, and network of Hesed social service centers to address emerging needs as events unfold. The organization is also preparing to handle mass displacement, and deploy psychosocial support and increased aid to the most vulnerable.
Catholic Relief Services – CRS is leading a large humanitarian effort for in the Ukraine and partnering with Caritas Ukraine to provide reception transportation, shelter, food, psychological support to displaced families in 20 shelters in various areas around the boarder of the Ukraine. They are partnering with the Ukrainian government and bringing additional volunteers and supply staff to the region and supporting Caritas Moldova and Caritas Romania to prepare for potential refugees from Ukraine in these areas.
